SkinGen combines the management and assets of BASIS Medical Technologies Inc, based in Toronto, Canada, with SILDERM Limited, with offices in London and Congleton, UK, and select assets of AIME Medical Inc., based in Largo, USA. John McCahill | Chief Executive Officer


CEO/Founder of BASIS Medical in 2009. Functioned in progressive management roles within the medical aesthetics market for the past 18 years throughout North America and acted as a Canadian subsidiary manager for Inamed Corp. (acquired by Allergan in 2005). John will be driving the strategic direction of the company as well as management and development key markets in Asia.

Paul Guilbaud | Executive Director


Founder of Aime Medical. Has run several major companies over the last 30 years mainly in Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals. Based in the USA, Paul has developed and managed International business for many years and has been involved at executive level in taking companies’ public, raising capital and selling companies. Paul will focus on the USA and the South American markets as well as developing the evidence base for the company’s products.

David Bryant | Executive Director


David has worked in senior management roles for several blue chip companies in the pharmaceutical and medical device markets. In recent years, David has developed international brands from concept through to commercialisation. David has worked extensively in the international marketplace and is responsible for developing the European markets for SkinGen. In addition David will be responsible for management of SkinGen’s manufacturing operations.

Aileen Cameron | Executive Director


Ex-Director at GSK. Worked in sales, marketing and international operations for over 25 years in several blue chip companies. Aileen has a strong sales and marketing background and has launched several major brands into key markets. Aileen will develop the Middle East, India and North Africa markets as well as overseeing SkinGen’s regulatory

Kam Shah is Skingen’s Director and Chief Financial Officer reporting to CEO and the Board. As CFO, Kam will oversee the accounting, business support, financial planning and analysis, treasury, M & A, internal controls and tax functions at Skingen and its subsidiaries. Kam has over 25 years of financial and management experience in global companies with significant operating scale and complexities. He spent over ten years in major accounting firms of Ernst & Young and PWC as senior manager. For last fifteen years, he has been a Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary in publicly listed companies engaged in oil & gas and biotechnology sectors. Kam is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant of the American Institute of CPAs and also a Chartered Professional Accountant of the Canadian Institute of CPAs.

Alena joined Basis Medical Technologies as Sr. Accountant in August, 2008. Promoted to Controller in March, 2010, Alena is responsible for executing all of the company’s internal and external reporting as well as ensuring that these documents comply with GAAP. Additionally, she assumes responsibility for overseeing regulatory compliance for Basis and our products, as well as the establishment and management of Basis’ financial policies, procedures, contracts, and reporting systems

Dr. Solish is a recognized and respected specialist in the field of cosmetic dermatology and dermatologic surgery. Dr. Solish graduated as a dermatologist from the University of Toronto and subsequently specialized in surgical dermatology at the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia. He is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Toronto, and President of the Canadian Society for Dermatologic Surgery. In addition to being Director of the Cosmetic Care and Laser Surgery Centre, Dr. Solish is Director of the Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer Clinic and the Laser Surgery Unit at Women’s College Hospital, and Director of Dermatologic Surgery at the University of Toronto.

Academically, Dr. Solish is responsible for planning the surgical dermatology curriculum at the University of Toronto. Widely published in peer-reviewed journals, he lectures regularly on dermatologic surgery techniques both nationally and abroad, having spoken in England, Sweden and the United States. He is also regularly asked to comment on his areas of specialization in the media. Interviews with Dr. Solish have appeared on ABC News, Global Television News, CBC Radio and CityTV, among other outlets. He currently sits on the medical advisory for international medical devices companies, Allergan and Medicis.

Dr. Colin Hong practices plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery in Toronto. He has extensive experience in Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, Microvascular Surgery and Hair Transplant Surgery and is an active member of the American and Canadian Societies of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Canadian Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Society and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.

A board certified Plastic Surgeon in both Canada and the United States, Dr. Hong is a past President of the Ontario Society of Plastic Surgery and a former Chief of Plastic Surgery for the Rouge Valley Health System. Professor Ali Ghanem is a world-renowned Board Certified1 Plastic Surgeon who currently directs The Aesthetic Regenerative Clinic and Academy of Aesthetic Regenerative Medicine in Central London (, where he uses his knowledge of surgery and regenerative medicine to teach and provide treatments using the most advanced proven technology available.

Professor Ghanem has for over a decade taught at the highest levels. He was a co-founder and lead of the first university qualification in aesthetic medicine worldwide at his previous role as clinical senior lecturer in Plastic Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgery at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry – Queen Mary University of London. He then moved to direct the new master programme of facial aesthetics at the Ulster University – College of Medicine and Surgery Birmingham Campus.

Professor Ghanem obtained his Doctorate in Medicine from Damascus University and he is also qualified in Medical Law and Ethics (Glasgow University), Surgical Science (Distinction – University of London) and Developmental and Stem Cell Biology (PhD – University College London). He is an Arnold Huddard Medallist of the Craniofacial Society of Great Britain, Chair Award during his fellowship at SickKids Toronto and also Awardee of the International Fellowship of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

His research investigating predictive validity of simulation training in microsurgery and facial aesthetics has led to numerous national and international awards. He is a the founder and chair to the Aesthetic Regenerative Medicine Symposium – Aesthetic Medicine Live Conference and Exhibition, London, UK.

James Spencer, MD,

Dr. James Spencer is a native of St. Louis, Missouri and received his graduate degree from Stanford University followed by a medical degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in New York City. He completed a residency in dermatology at Columbia University and a fellowship in Mohs Microscopic Surgery at the University of Tennessee with Rex Amonette, MD

Dr. Spencer has been assistant professor and director of Mohs surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and associate professor and vice chairman of the Department of Dermatology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. His current rank is Professor of Clinical Dermatology at Mount Sinai. He also maintains a private practice in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Spencer is past president of the American Society for Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery, is past president of the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, past president of the Florida Society for Dermatologic Surgery,  past Co-Chairman for the National Council for Skin Cancer Prevention, and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. Spencer is past co-editor in chief of the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology as well as on the editorial boards of Dermatologic Surgery, Aesthetic Buyers Guide, The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, and Contemporary Dermatology. He has previously been editor in chief of the journal Cosmetic Dermatology. Dr. Spencer has presented at numerous national and international symposia and has coedited 1 book, authored and co-authored 14 book chapters, and over 100 medical papers.
